Born April 15, 2002, Emma may be petite, but she’s full of energy and curiosity! She arrived at PPI in April of 2025 with CJ, Jackson, and Herbie from Freedom for Great Apes, an Oregon sanctuary that opened in 1995 but decided to close its doors as its chimpanzee group naturally diminished. Always on the move, she loves working with enrichment tools and climbing to new heights. When she’s not busy exploring, you can usually find her perched high in one of the aerial tunnels, basking in the cool breeze while snuggled up in a cozy nest of blankets. With her playful spirit and sweet nature, Emma brings both joy and warmth to everyone around her—human and non-human primates.
