Save the date! Giving Day for Apes is October 11, 2022. Giving Day for Apes is a global day of giving in support of sanctuaries and rescue centers providing rehabilitation or long-term care for apes around the world.

This year, your donations on Giving Day for Apes will be used to ensure that Primarily Primates’ enrichment program and our daily care are second to none.

Animals who reside in sanctuaries don’t have the same opportunities for a changing environment that they would have in the wild, such as meeting new individuals, coming across new objects and foraging for food in the trees and ground across many miles.

So PPI provides its residents with an enrichment program that promotes natural wild behaviors and mental stimulation.

Throughout Giving Day for Apes you will learn about the different forms of enrichment provided to PPI’s chimpanzees—social, object, structural and food—and how your support is crucial to securing much-needed supplies for our program. Each category of enrichment inspires curiosity, play, exercise and well-being in myriad ways.
