Phoebe
$120.00 – $600.00
Just like other sanctuaries, Primarily Primates takes medical precautions to ensure there are no unintended pregnancies. Male monkeys, apes and lemurs undergo vasectomies when they arrive. It’s rare that one fails, but that’s why we have Phoebe. Snow macaque Amber gave birth to Phoebe at the sanctuary. Phoebe’s father is java macaque Monchou. For reasons unknown, Amber rejected Phoebe. In the wild rejected infants would usually die, but PPI care staff and members came to the rescue. Phoebe has found companionship with Olivia, who arrived at PPI at just three months old after she was confiscated when her owner relocated to Arizona because it is illegal there to keep primates as pets.
