Animals and staff safe in Texas

We know that the coronavirus is testing your nerves as it is ours. As offices and businesses temporarily shut down, we want you to take all the necessary precautions your community is suggesting to stay healthy and limit the spread of this virus.

We also want you to know that Primarily Primates remains open, and always will, as 320 birds and animals, mostly primates, depend on us for their care. Per usual, our staff is providing all the essentials—food and healthcare, enrichment activities that stimulate our animals’ wild behaviors, as well as maintaining habitats and the 78-acre Texas-based property. Of course, we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the animals’ well-being as well as that of our dedicated staff, who show up to work each day, regardless of pandemics or natural disasters, to care for our extraordinary animals.

Please know that your donations are just as crucial as ever—they allow us to care for our animals. In all this uncertainty, one thing’s for sure, your support keeps Primarily Primates and its life-saving work up and running and that is something to feel good about. Sanctuaries do not have the luxury to stop asking for help (much less close our doors temporarily), and we thank you from the bottom of our heart for your continuing generosity.
